Scheduled for February 13–14, 2026, Chabad House at Rutgers University–New Brunswick will host Shabbos for 1000, the largest Shabbos experience ever held at Rutgers and one of the most significant in New Jersey.
Shabbos for 1000 will unite 1,000 Jewish college students from Rutgers and campuses across the East Coast for a joyful, meaningful Shabbos featuring full-course meals, student-led programs, singing, and community building. Students are encouraged to invite friends, classmates, and Jewish faculty, creating an atmosphere of unity, warmth, and shared Jewish pride. Advance registration is required.
Co-sponsored by campus organizations including Rutgers SSI, Rutgers Hillel, RJX, Brothers of AEPi, Sigma Alpha Mau (SAMMY), and Sigma Delta Tau (SDT), this historic initiative strengthens Jewish identity and belonging at a critical moment for Jewish life on campus.
Shabbos for 1000 is more than an event—it is a statement of Jewish pride, strength, and unity. Partner with Chabad House at Rutgers to help make history and inspire the next generation of Jewish leaders.
