Hundreds of Rutgers University students gathered at the Chabad House at Rutgers this Veterans Day to honor those who have served in the armed forces, both U.S. Veterans and Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Veterans.

The event, held at the popular student venue JCafé, brought together students from across campus to express gratitude and solidarity with veterans who have dedicated their lives to protecting freedom and peace.

The program featured heartfelt video messages from students sharing words of appreciation for veterans’ service and sacrifice. Attendees also signed hundreds of personalized cards, which were be delivered to veterans in local nursing homes, and distributed “Thank You for Your Service” Veterans Day stickers throughout campus and at the event.

Organized by JCafé Directors Sammi Byck, Ginger Ammar, and Hannah East, the evening embodied the Chabad House’s mission of community, gratitude, and action.
“This program gave our students the opportunity to show respect and appreciation for those who’ve served, both here in America and in the Holy Land,” said Rabbi Yosef Carlebach, Chabad’s Executive Director. “It’s a beautiful reminder that gratitude and unity can bridge communities and generations.”

The Chabad House at Rutgers continues to serve as a home away from home for thousands of students, fostering Jewish life, leadership, and learning on campus through programs like JCafé and year-round community events.
