Do you want beautiful dorms, kosher food, fun activities and Jewish life in one building?
Over 100 Jewish students get to live together at Chabad’s dorm. It is the largest Jewish student center in the world. Over 7000 students have come through these halls.

Initial Housing Request
(For first-time applicants only.
Returning students can fill out the regular housing contract below and submit with a deposit.) *There is a $200 non-refundable application fee.
This is not a deposit or a guarantee of housing. Please see the Housing Fee Schedule below and the Housing Contract for more information on the terms

Rabbi Yosef Carlebach
Rabbi Yosef Carlebach is the Shliach of the Rebbe in Central NJ with 10 Chabad Houses, the Executive Director and founding rabbi at Rutgers Chabad House, chaplain of the NJ State Police, NJ Transit Police, St. Peters Medical Center and Monmouth Medical Center; and most importantly, father of 13 loving children and numerous grandchildren (BA”H).
Rabbi Baruch Goodman
Rabbi Goodman is the heart of the Chabad House. He has encouraged thousands of students to believe in themselves, each other, and in Judaism. He, along with his wife and growing family, spend every Shabbat and Jewish holiday on campus, at Rutgers Chabad.
Rebbetzin Sarah Goodman
Sarah Goodman teaches engaging and fascinating Jewish discovery classes, as well as hands-on Challah baking at Rutgers Chabad. She, her husband, and many of her 13 children and growing number of grandchildren, sleep in Rutgers Chabad every Shabbat and Yom Tov.
Rabbi Shaya Shagalow
Shortly after arriving at Rutgers in 2009, Rabbi Shaya Shagalow became an integral part of a new project, the Jon Shevell Sinai Scholars Program. This is a ten-week course sponsored by Mr. Myron Shevell in memory of his son. In developing the program, Rabbi Shagalow sought to build a curriculum that would provide students with an enjoyable, yet intensive, learning experience.
Rabbi Mendy Carlebach
Rabbi Mendy Carlebach is the administrator at Rutgers Chabad. Additionally, he is the Director of Chabad of North and South Brunswick, Chaplain of the Port Authority of NY & NJ Police Dept., Chaplain of South Brunswick Police Dept., Jewish Chaplain to MCC – Federal Bureau of Prisons NY, NY, and member of NJ.
Rabbi Shneur and Menucha Majeski
Rabbi Shneur and Menucha Majeski are dedicated to Jewish young adult programming, including Shabbat events, camps, and learning groups. Their mission is to inspire others with the beauty of Torah and Mitzvot, following the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s vision. They lead Chabad of East Brunswick and engage with students at Chabad of Rutgers University, sharing their passion for meaningful connections and Jewish life.
