Dear Friends and Supporters:
Chabad House's Annual Operating Budget exceeds four million dollars annually. And our Annual Gala Dinner income will usually account for thirty to forty percent of our budget (from 1.2 million dollars to 1.6 million dollars). Unfortunately, we were forced to postpone our Annual Gala Dinner, (scheduled for March 16), honoring Mr. Ed Mosberg, and N.J. State Attorney General Gurbir Grewal. As a result we were not able to raise this amount, and now face serious budgetary issues. In addition, we have incurred a new unexpected expense of refunds or credits to the hundreds of students in our dorm or Kosher Meal Programs.
The immediate operations of Chabad House require the amount of $260,000.00 - to pay utilities, mortgage, vendors, insurance, rebates (for unused student Housing and Kosher Meal Program), and salaries. Chabad House is fortunate that a true friend has committed to donate $130,000.00 to match (dollar for dollar) any gift for this Emergency Campaign. We ask you, our long-standing supporters and friends to respond generously, and help Chabad House in these trying days.
Chabad House has served the university students and the larger Jewish community throughout Central and South New Jersey for more than forty-one-years. Help support, and guarantee that Chabad House will stay vibrant through these difficult times, and for decades to come. Your tax-deductible generous contribution will be doubled, and you will have guaranteed that the Jewish future remains strong for generations!
