Chabad Opens New Center In Holmdel

Chabad House-Lubavitch, serving Rutgers University and communities throughout central and southern New Jersey, announces the opening of a new center to service the communities of Holmdel, Colts Neck and Northern Monmouth County.  This new center will be added to the existing ten Chabad centers that are already serving communities in New Brunswick, Rutgers University, East Brunswick, Edison, Elberon, Manalapan-Marlboro, Monroe, Ocean, South-North Brunswick.
 
The new Chabad House will be directed by Rabbi Ephi Carlebach.  Rabbi Ephi received his education at Yeshivas Lubavitch in Toronto, Canada; Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim in Lod , Israel; Yeshiva Oholei Torah in Brooklyn, NY; and Pretoria Hebrew Congregation in South Africa, where he received his rabbinical ordination.  In addition, Rabbi Carlebach has served as spiritual leader and associate Rabbi in Johannesburg, South Africa, Congregation Sons of Israel in Wayside and at Chabad of the Shore area in Long Branch, NJ.
 
Rabbi Carlebach has served as chaplain of the largest correctional  facility in the USA, Federal Prison of Coleman in Coleman, Florida.  In addition, Rabbi Ephi served in leadership roles at summer camps in Sharon, Mass; Santa Monica, California; Palo Alto, California.  He was the Head Counselor at Camp Chayolei Hamelech in Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania.
 
Rabbi Carlebach brings a wealth of experience with reaching out to unaffiliated youth and welcomes the young men and women and their families of northern Monmouth County to learn and be inspired by the heritage and tradition of Torah Judaism.
 
The new Chabad House has already operated New Year holiday services and meals in the Colts Neck Inn, Chanukah programs at the Garden State Arts Center in Holmdel and numerous Torah study groups in private homes throughout Holmdel and Colts Neck.
