Over 400 students attended Chabad’s Spring Opener this past Tuesday night, which featured pop Israeli and Chassidic music, authentic shwarma in hot, whole wheat pita pockets, israeli salads, wings, hors devoures, sufganiot, and plenty of moctail l’chaims at the “Chabar” with Rabbi Goodman, Josh Roth, and Lev Gelfand, all under the watchful eye of professional bartender Josh Block!
“The crowds just kept on coming and coming the whole night long from 9 unitl 11:30pm!” commented Chabad Vice President Josh Roth. “I am very happy to see so many people having a great time hearing of all the amazing new programs we’ve planned for this new semester.”
“How was your break?” was the question of the evening, to which the answers varied from Birthright Israel, Europe and China, to Miami to California and the Poconos! Half the crowd said winter break was too short, while others felt very happy to be back with friends in good ol’ New Brunsy! Whichever you felt, “we are very happy to have you back,” commented Chabad President Danielle Wald. “Our new semester – and my last semester here at Rutgers – promises to be the best ever, starting with our famous Ski, Snowboard and Snowtube Trip coming up at the end of January, our popular community service mitzvah drive, and lots more get-togethers and programs. We really hope every student can attend this year – and it’s not like we don’t have the room – we’re building a gigantic building to accommodate everyone!”
Special thanks goes to Tuesday night expert staff Danielle Wald, Jessica Loren, Matt Montel, Josh Strimber, Josh Block, and Lev Gelfand. It’s all because of your love and care that we have a crazy good Jewish community here at RU! Thanks for everything!
See you at the next exciting event at Chabad…because you know it’s good!
