More than 100 vehicles will be gathering this evening to parade through neighborhoods in the Jersey Shore area blasting Chanukah Holiday music, and with unique Chanukah Menorahs displayed on their rooftops. The parade, organized by Chabad of Greater Monmouth County and Congregation Sons of Israel of Ocean Township, will slowly pass through areas in Ocean, Asbury Park, Deal, and Eatontown. It will feature exotic cars, SUV's, motor cycles, all adorned with Chanukah Menorahs and flags, Individually wrapped donuts and hot latkes will be distributed.
Rabbi Yosef Carlebach, parade organizer, stated, "In these days of Covid-19, we need to figure how to bring the light and uplifting message of Chanukah to all peoples. In the darkest periods of our history, we were inspired by the miracles and lights of Chanukah, and we saw how G-d brought victory to the few over the many, and light beat darkness. Chanukah is a living reminder that we have a friend and protector at all times. Now too, all are invited to bring the spirit of Chanukah into their homes and lives. This wonderful activity will be safe and fun for the entire family."
The "Unity Car Menorah Parade" will commence at Congregation Sons of Israel - Chabad in 1 Poplar Place, Ocean Township, today at 5:30 PM, and will end at The Eatontown Shul, 20 Whalepond Road, Eatontown, NJ at 7:30 PM.
