Chabad House at Rutgers University and Gan Izzy Highland Park proudly partners with SHILO - Supporting Homeless Innovatively Loving Others to help feed the vulnerable population in New Brunswick. This essential community service takes place during the summer camp weeks and fall and spring Rutgers University semesters when any excess food, fruits or vegetables are donated to SHILO for immediate distribution by their dedicated volunteers. SHILO, a grassroots volunteer organization, was founded to "empowerthe homeless through advocating resources which encourage self-sufficiency and stable living," and they "provide support for the homeless in NJ with food, clothing, toiletries & weekly outreach."
