The Governor of New Jersey celebrated the Fifth Day of Chanukah with a delegation of Rabbis and Community Leaders in the Statehouse in Trenton, N.J.
This celebration was joined by the Chabad Rabbis of Central and South New Jersey, Deputy Consul General of Israel Amir Sagie, NJ Israel Commission Chairman Mark Levenson, Rabbi Steve Pruzansky of Teaneck, and Rabbi S. Boteach of Englewood, NJ.
Governor Christie opened his remarks with a statement in response to the news regarding Israel. The Governor affirmed his support and concern, and New Jersey's support for the people and Land of Israel. The Governor stated, "Israel is the only democracy in the entire Middle East. How dare we allow to take place, and not veto the United Nations resolution that lambasted our true friends? The UN has proven itself to be a center of darkness that has one agenda only, the damage it can do to Israel. Let us hope and pray for a brighter future for Israel and for our people here in the U.S.A. in the coming days."
The ceremony ended with Chanukah songs and Kosher refreshments.
