Home of the Future

Whatever you know about home construction is about to become obsolete. Get ready for the new generation of buildings, with walls that can be “dragged” to the desired location and windows that can be repositioned on demand. Homes will be built out of antimicrobial and dirt-resistant materials that will keep walls and surfaces clean perpetually. The paint particles will be sensitive to light or electric currents, changing color to match the atmosphere or mood.

The contents of the refrigerator and kitchen cabinets will all be labeled electronically, with products reordered automatically when you run low. Robot assistants will help keep your house running smoothly and efficiently. Nothing will ever get lost, because every object will be tagged with a microchip for quick identification and location.

Home sensors in every room will detect when the room is empty, automatically shutting off the heat or air conditioning. You will receive an electronic alert whenever it’s time to pick up your child from school or go to a doctor’s appointment. Every home computer will have a medical diagnostic system that will be reported to your doctor’s office in real time. An automatic lawn mower will cut the grass itself, turning corners and avoiding flowers. It will also recharge its own battery automatically. The house of the future will be environmentally friendly, will recycle its own waste and generate its own electricity from solar or wind power. Ultra-modern conveniences will remove the entire burden of home maintenance from the owners, allowing them to relax and enjoy life to its fullest.

**

The truth is that the entire world as we know it was created just for that purpose—to enable the true Master of the world to dwell there in full comfort. G-d wants a dwelling place in the lowest world—a place where He can fully express itself. What He desires is not the “upper,” spiritual worlds, but specifically our physical world, the lowest of the low. This is where G-d’s true infinite, unlimited self can be fully expressed.

This is what we have been doing for the past nearly six millennia since creation—we have been renovating G-d’s home, cleaning it, sweeping out all impurities and infusing it with light and warmth—all according to the specifications of the building “owner,” G-d Himself.

The preparations have been done. G-d is ready to move in. All that’s left is for us to open the door and invite Him inside. We are ready to greet Moshiach and move in with G-d into the perfect home we have prepared for Him.
