Menorah Lighting at the World Trade Center
On the third night of Chanukah the Port Authority held its annual World Trade Center Menorah Lighting sponsored by the Port Authority Shomrim Society.
Port Authority Police Lieutenant Scot Pomerantz, President of the PAPD Shomrim Society welcomed the close to 100 guests to the World Trade Center site and spoke about the meaning of rededicating a Menorah at the site.
Rabbi Mendy Carlebach, Chaplain of the Port Authority then spoke about Chanukah and introduced the Port Authority Executive Director Pat Foye.
Followed by remarks of representatives of Governors Chris Christie and Andrew Coumo, NJ Senator Linda Greenstein shared her memories of the South Brunswick Township Menorah Lighting that she has attended for the past 12 years.
Following the ceremony guests were treated to a lavish catered Chanukah dinner.
